Outdoor activities

One of the best things about Batalang Bato is its house reef in front. This means guests don’t have to go far and wide to snorkel and dive. Snorkel gear for four are available for a small fee.

However, if you wish to see other dive spots, the resthouse can also make arrangements for scuba diving. Make sure to provide two-week advance notice. You can also rent a banca for P3,500 (good for 6) to take you to Sombrero and Fortalez Islands (excluding environmental fees).

The seaside rock formations, one bearing a small cave, provide a dramatic backdrop for those venturing out with their kayaks. A couple can be rented from the resthouse, both equipped with a life vest.

After a full day, hunker down by the beach for the most magnificent sunset, or make yourself a hot cup of tea while playing sungka or unwinding on a hammock, with the sound of birds, geckos, and cicadas. If you’re lucky to come by during the rainy season, you’ll be delighted by the sight of fireflies surrounding the property.

Food

There is no restaurant on site or in the immediate vicinity, so it’s recommended that you buy fresh meat and vegetables for cooking. There is a wet market in Bauan, about four minutes aay, as well as fast food chains. Buy charcoal if you’re planning on grilling.
