With the holidays coming up, travelers are busy booking vacations near the Metro. Why not take your usual staycation up a notch by sleeping inside a manmade beachfront cocoon?

A new resort chain in Batangas lets you snuggle like a butterfly – albeit with more room to wiggle around – in unique, cocoon-like rooms with scenic sea views to boot. The Cocoons are designed to “merge intimate stays and engaging plays in one Instagram worthy space for guests.”

And above all, they accept guests of all ages, so you can tag along even your little critters and grandma.

Aptly named Cocoons, the Millenial Resorts properties are built on two prime beachfront locations in Batangas: Cocoons, Club Laiya is located in Laiya, San Juan, while Cocoons CaSoBe is in Calatagan South Beach. Both are known for their off-white sandy beaches, clear waters, and accessibility from Manila (an easy three-hour drive on SLEX).

Cocoon Types & Amenities

The CaSoBe and Club Laiya properties offer Garden Cocoons surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens that are ideal for communing with nature. There are 18 Garden Cocoons available for overnight trips in CaSoBe.

In addition to Garden Cocoons, the Club Laiya property also features Poolside Cocoons and Beachside Cocoons. Cocoons, Club Laiya is more extensive, offering a total of 33 cocoons.

Each cocoon comes with the following in-room amenities:

  • Queen-size bed
  • Fully air conditioned
  • Safety deposit box
  • Flat screen TV with cable
  • Miniba
  • Complimentary WiFi

The unconventional cocoons are similar in design and size and differ mainly on their location on the property and which facilities they are closest to. For instance, Poolside Cocoons have direct pool access and a view of the pool, while Beachside Cocoons have direct beach access and thus boast a fantastic vista of the sea. They are also located close to the Club Lounge.
