2. Angono-Binangonan Petroglyphs

The petroglyphs were first discovered in 1965 by National Artist Carlos “Botong” Franciso, who also hailed from Angono. It is believed to be the oldest known carving in the country, dating back to 1000 B.C. In 1973, the site’s 127 engravings were declared as a National Cultural Treasure.

It is best to contact the National Museum of the Philippines first as they handle the management of the site.

4. Mt. Daraitan & Tinipak River

5. Hinulugang Taktak

Remember that song during your childhood days? The beauty of Hinulugang Taktak is surely not one to forget. It may have been astray for some time, but after the rehabilitation initiatives of the local government, the waterfall is slowly reverting to its former glory.

The waterfall’s name was coined after residents’ complaints in the 16th century. The church had a bell that made loud noises during Angelus. After receiving complaints, a priest had it thrown into the river and thus, the site was known as “where the bell was dropped”.
