Traveling to Boracay? You Don’t Need PNP Travel Authority Anymore, Says DOT

After it announced that local tourists of all ages are now allowed to visit Boracay, the Department of Tourism made it even more convenient by announcing a week later that tourists no longer need to obtain a travel authority from the Philippine National Police (PNP).

On September 30, DOT Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat said that tourists only need to meet these conditions to be permitted entry into the island:

  • A duly accomplished online health declaration form
  • Confirmed hotel bookings prior to arriving on the island
  • A negative result from a reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test 48 to 72 hours prior to traveling to the island
  • Has no comorbidity or health risks

To avoid hassles, all tourists are advised to keep their tourist QR codes for island services.
